UGC NET June 2025 Subject-wise Vacancy Details

Eligibility Criteria
Educational Qualification
- For Assistant Professor Only: Master’s degree with at least 55% marks (or an equivalent grade in a point scale) from a recognized university/institution.
- For JRF & Assistant Professor: Master’s degree with at least 55% marks (or an equivalent grade in a point scale) from a recognized university/institution.
- A relaxation of 5% marks (from 55% to 50%) is provided to SC/ST/OBC (Non-creamy layer)/PwD/Transgender candidates.
- Candidates who are pursuing their Master’s degree or equivalent course or candidates who have appeared for their qualifying Master’s degree (final year) examination and whose result is still awaited can also apply for UGC NET. However, such candidates will be admitted provisionally and shall be considered eligible for award of JRF/eligibility for Assistant Professor only after they have passed their Master’s degree or equivalent examination with at least 55% marks (50% marks in case of SC/ST/OBC (Non-creamy layer)/PwD/Transgender candidates).
Age Limit (as on 01.05.2025)
- For JRF: Not more than 30 years. A relaxation of up to 5 years is provided to SC/ST/OBC (Non-creamy layer)/PwD/Transgender candidates and to women applicants.
- For Assistant Professor Only: No upper age limit.
